Intel Xeon X3323
Runs in an LGA 775 board only with the adapter sticker, the socket tabs removed and BIOS support for its core. How the mod works.
Intel Xeon X3323: 4-core, 2.5 GHz, Yorkfield, LGA 771, 1333 MT/s FSB, 6 MB (2 x 3 MB) L2, 80 W TDP.
Despite a 33xx number that belongs to the LGA 775 Xeon 3300 family, the X3323 is an LGA 771 uniprocessor part: Yorkfield-CL, product code 80584, sold to OEMs only. It matches the X3320 in clock and cache, 2.5 GHz and 6 MB, but carries a lower 80 W rating. ARK's archived page has no socket, launch date, Tcase or VID range. The socket and the Q1 2008 launch come from Wikipedia, and the Tcase and VID cells stay blank rather than borrow figures. Neither sSpec, SLASE (C1) or SLBC5 (E0), is in an Intel spec update, so their CPUIDs, 10677 and 1067A, are mapped from the stepping. Through the mod it gives a 45 nm board a modest quad with SSE4.1.

A BIOS needs a microcode update matching the CPUID (and, for Xeons, the LGA 771 platform ID). See LGA 771 Xeon microcode and how to read your stepping.
Mod notes
Closest LGA 775 desktop chip: Core 2 Quad Q8300 (2.5 GHz, 1333 MT/s, 4 MB (2 x 2 MB)). A board that lists it is the best sign it can run the Xeon X3323.
Stick the adapter on the CPU, cut the two key tabs from the LGA 775 socket and add microcode for CPUID 10677 (C1) or 1067A (E0) with the LGA 771 platform ID; the board must already run 45 nm Core 2 quads. Removing the tabs is permanent, and a slip with the blade can bend socket pins.
Check a specific board with the LGA 771 to 775 compatibility checker.
