Intel Xeon L5335
Runs in an LGA 775 board only with the adapter sticker, the socket tabs removed and BIOS support for its core. How the mod works.
Intel Xeon L5335: 4-core, 2.0 GHz, Clovertown, LGA 771, 1333 MT/s FSB, 8 MB (2 x 4 MB) L2, 50 W TDP.
Of the 50 W Clovertowns, the L5335 is the one on the faster 1333 MT/s bus, running 2.0 GHz with 8 MB of L2. ARK puts its launch in Q3 2007, and the only sSpec listed is the G0 part SLAEN. That sSpec is missing from Intel's spec update, so its CPUID 6FB is mapped from the stepping table, and CPU-World confirms it. On Enhanced SpeedStep, ARK says no and Wikipedia's Clovertown list implies yes; the table says no. Tcase is 60 °C, VID 1.1 V to 1.25 V. A low-power quad with VT-x for a home server is the obvious use.

Steppings and microcode IDs
| Stepping | CPUID | sSpec |
|---|---|---|
| G0 | 6FB | SLAEN |
A BIOS needs a microcode update matching the CPUID (and, for Xeons, the LGA 771 platform ID). See LGA 771 Xeon microcode and how to read your stepping.
Mod notes
It needs a board with Kentsfield support, the adapter sticker, the socket's two key tabs removed, and microcode for CPUID 6FB with the LGA 771 platform ID. Power off at the wall and ground yourself before working on the socket; a static discharge can kill the board.
Check a specific board with the LGA 771 to 775 compatibility checker.
